HOMIE NOVELAS

Who doesn't love TVyNovelas? I know I do, and I bet all your Tias and Abuelitas do too. But here you have HomieNovelas... Novelas just for the Homies! I think they're pretty funny, although some people might think they can be a bit racist or stereotypical... I say, Whatever man, it's a fucking cartoon... stop taking shit so seriously and just laugh. Plus the writer, and creator of Homies is Mexican, and just like me loves to make fun of our  tackiness and choloness ... I love it!!! It's good to laugh at ourselves sometimes...  Just keeping it Breezy for y'all.

KATHY GRIFFIN- MY LIFE ON THE D LIST

Kathy Griffin's reality TV show "My Life on the D-List" is absolutely hilarious...it cracks my shit up every time I see it. When my roommates hear me laghing like a crazy lady in my room they know I'm watching her show. It's on every Thursday night at 10p.m. on Bravo. The clip above is from one of my favorite episodes. Kathy tries to do like Oprah did in Africa, and totally hooks up the "biblioteca"  of a school in Mexico. She then re-names the school "Kathy Griffin Leadership Academy" for los niños y las niñas. My favorite is when she tries to say words in Spanish... but the whole show in general is hella funny. It's my favorite reality TV show at the moment, and as Kathy likes to say...   Te Quiero Mucho!!!

BOULEVARD NIGHTS

"Boulevard Nights" is the OG of cholo movies. First released in 1979 by Warner Bros., then the VHS release in 1993. Directed by Michael Pressman, and filmed in East L.A. Raymond Avila (Richard Yniguez) tries to leave behind the gang life, but keeps getting drawn back into it. His little brother Chuco (Danny De La Paz) is already in too deep in the barrio life full of drugs and violence. If you love cholo movies this is a must see... but I must warn you that the acting is not all that great, but then again how many directors in 1979 took on a Chicano film? By the 1990's we had great cholo films like "American Me" and "Mi Familia". Either way it's a classic...
