Continuing with my love for old Cholo/a independent films, I wanted to share this documentary done by PBS in 1982 about Chicano gangs in the barrios of East Oakland. It's not the best quality, and a bit long for a youtube video, but I highly recommend you watch the whole thing. This film really shows how hard it is to raise a family in the hood, and how one becomes a product of their environment, in this case gang violence.
Many thanks to homie Jose Rivera a.k.a. El Bago de East Oakland E7th st. Barrio for uploading this video on youtube and sharing it with us!
