Lowriding is back en La Mission!!! You have no idea how happy this makes me. La Mission has a long history of lowriding, it goes way back to the 60's, 70's, 80's, and even the 90's when the homies would cruise Mission Boulevard in their firme ranflas. It wasn't until the Finestein mayoral administration from 1978-'88 that lowriding the streets was banned, and it seemed to drastically slow down the number of ranflas cruising La Mission. I feel like there's this new revival of the lowriding culture happening right now in the Bay Area, and it's very exciting to me. I mean, for a while now there's been the whole Kustom Car Culture and car show circuit, but this is different... I don't even know how to explain it, it just is! Below are a few videos about Cruising La Mission that might help you understand why I feel the way I do...Watcha!!!
So from now on we meet every Sunday at La Raza Park on 25th & San Bruno (were cars can park) 3pm the bbq's start... and we cruise at 6pm down 24th to where evers. See you there next Sunday. Trucha!!!
